OK, so they didn't teach me a complete different language or anything, but oh boy do I love that duo or wot. When all the other girls were experimenting with makeup and what-not, back in sixth grade, I would borrow home every single C&H comic I could get my hands on and just laugh my ass off.. I still do. In fact, we've got a study group kind of thing going on at the moment because of math exams this Friday, and today, while everyone was busy trying to figure out math and shit, I sat in the corner with a Calvin and Hobbes comic and tried not to laugh out loud and break everyone's concentration. Of course I failed at doing just that, big time.
... Special is the perfect word. :)

Aw man, I've never been anywhere worth mentioning. You travel a lot? And fuck, you know German? That's insane. I don't, though, I preferred French to that in school.

Ever been to switzerland? i lived there for a while and they have this daily little newspaper thing that they give out for free. it was a crap newspaper but it was free.

calvin and hobbes was in the comic section. every day i would read it/translate it. calvin and hobbes basically taught me German. Plus, it's one of the funniest comics i've ever read.

Yap, that's Calvin speaking Danish! He says something like: "Who was the first person to look at a cow and go, I wonder what comes out when I squeeze these?"
You know, Calvin's name is Steen in Danish. And Steen means rock, or more specific: stone. Hobbes is called Stoffer, and that (even better) means DRUGS! Haha.

I don't like the hamburgers song. No aphrodisaic is ok. That's off a more recent album which i hate. Where is she? is just splendid though. It's off their first album and i just love it.

But I know a few tracks by the Whitlams too! It was very random though. One day I felt like searching for songs with 'hamburger' in its title, and that's how I found my first Whitlams-song. Then I downloaded "No Aphrodisiac" - LOVE IT, btw. - and "Where Is She?". Haha.

Well there you go. That's awesome that you've heard a bit of Goyte. Did you like it? I'm not the greatest fan but i really love a few of his songs.

I'd be very surprised though if you had heard the whitlams track. They are reasonably big in australia, but i only like their first 2 CDs from early 90s and no one really knows their early work.

I do. I wasn't aware that they were Australian, but I listened to some music at a friend's place once, and I remember that we listened to some tracks off an album called Like Drawing Blood (I remember looking her iTunes library through (or, mainly just the Playing Now list)). I can definitely recall the track Hearts a mess. For serious.

sorry the mountains in the picture certainly are blue, but unfortunately they're not THE blue mountains. They look like the alps to me. The Blue Mountains are more like hills compared to those mountains.

I looked up the Three Sisters as you told me, and you're right - they're kinda fab! I love how the one in the middle has a very pointy top opposed to the two others. And cool names!! Plus Wikipedia got a nice picture of them, with lots of eucalyptus in the background making it blue... Haha, I still can't get over the fact that Australia's got all the eucalyptus in all the world.

I found it on iTunes, and it wasn't part of no single, but part of a soundtrack to some Sarah Michelle Gellarfellar movie called Simply-- Simply Irresistible? I don't know what it is, but the tag lines go something like, "Magic opened up their heart... Love did the rest". Eh? ANYWAY. Nice song. The album cover sucks, though. I hate SMG great big times...

I found some great pictures of the Blue Mountains actually. And you can definitely see the blue haze/tinge. I'll try and upload a picture in my MTC gallery, it is very beautiful!

About Nouvelle Vague (thanks for the tag on my mix btw!): I haven't heard much either, but this track is AMAZING. If you find Nouvelle Vague's MySpace profil, the song "In a Manner of Speaking" should most definitely appear in the audio player. It's truly amazing, I don't know if Camille is the one to credit though.

lol, god i hope you end up liking it if you're going to have to pay money for it... it's hard to find because it's a B-Side (song that's put on a single, in case you don't know what that means). I would upload it for you but i don't know how!!

INTERESTING FACT: The Blue Mountains is called the blue mountains because from a distance they appear to have a bluey tinge to them. I heard somewhere that it has something to do with the Eucalyptus trees we have here, but i don't know how true that is...

Yah, I feel the same about Denmark. You know, whenever people are like, "Oh I want to visit Scandinavia some time soon", I'm like, "Anywhere else than Denmark", because I've lived here my entire life, and although it's fuck great, you realise the world (life even) isn't about your country.

Blue Mountains, what a wonderful name. Actually, I am thinking about travelling to Australia, or perhaps New Zealand, when I finish what you may call high school in two years time. But I'm not sure if I can cope with it because I also have to find myself an appartement when I'm 18 etc. etc. :(
I'll google a wallabe rightaway, nothing gets me going like kangaroos, and the word kangaroo!
