is $62.99 on vinyl. ouch! on ebay its only $47.99.. still alot though. maybe ill get it once i have my job and a salary. i think id rather have Ágætis Byrjun, but thats ridiculously hard to find and surely will not go for less than Takk.

Eh, I really don't have a good reason. I love the band and that album, so it seemed a worthy purchase, but I'm notorious for the occasional impulse buy and I have no concept of record costs whatsoever. So, yeah. Go get beer.

BEER! Although in my recent samplings I have discovered that Sigur Rós is quite tasty.

Takk is really good, but Ágætis Byrjun is still by far my favorite. I'd rather track that down and spend $62.99 on it than Takk.

It's £30 here, which would be like $56? Still not worth it. Plus, shoch-horror, I prefer it on CD, since albums like that have a distinct flow which works better on CD since it isn't disrupted by being turned over.

Takk is not worth it.

I've never really been able to get into Sigur Rós to be honest. They have a couple songs that I like but I would never pay that much.

buy it, and stare at it longingly, and build up your tolerance for alcohol by not drinking for a bit. a prized album is worth more than 6.5 6-packs (even with recycling value), or 5-7 mediocre records.

i agree that it's worth more than 6.5 six packs of domestic toilet water, but is it worth 15 22 oz bottles of imperial stouts, mocha porters, and various winter ales this coming season? the record would last longer, but it would also catapult you into the vinyl snob category. you're already the most admirable beer snob i know.
the question is, which side of you will prevail?

i think it is now safe to say that the vinyl snob prevailed. no, i didnt drop the $62.99 for Sigur Ros, instead i dropped $100.50 (including shipping) for a sealed, 200 gram release of The Bootleg Series 4: Bob Dylan Live 1966 The "Royal Albert Hall" Concert. A truely epic show. By far the best record ive ever bought, and well worth the money.

..and ive already played it so much that i may have to invest in another copy to keep pristine for special occaisons.
