I didn't even say that they did suck. I don't know if they suck. But if they do, that might be why they rate lowly. My mixes (all two of them) probably aren't that great themselves.
Anyway, honestly, I didn't think anyone would dignify 'Do the suck?' with a response. Musical diversity might be a key. A lot of people like tapes with a certain sound - not necessarily all jazz, hip hop, indie, electronic, etc., but with a specific flow that might be hard to get if you mix too many sounds.

2k points is pretty good for a mix. It seems to pale in comparison to profile ratings, but you have to remember that people get lots of points from non ratings related things for their account... but there isn't a way to do that for mixes.

I'm hoping 2.0 has a better system for accessing mixtapes and rating/viewing them. Sometimes it seems like all the non-contest mixes just get tossed in the mess and forgotten a week after they've been posted.

or, a button that automatically rates mixes with a +10 score (a secret +10 function would have to be created, but definitely worth it) if nobody rates in within 2 weeks and then 2 1/2 people rate it +2 or higher no less than 35 minutes after those 2 weeks have elapsed.
