This past summer I went on a trip to Lake Shasta in northern California with a group of friends from college that I hadn't seen in ages. The first day/night on our houseboat it was just myself and 4 guys before the rest of the group joined up with us.
As we set sail from the marina that afternoon, I popped in a mix I had made specifically for the trip and climbed to the top deck with a cold bottle of Hefeweizen to lay out in the sun. It was a perfect, hot summer day, and as I was laying there this song came on. All of a sudden the boys-- regular stoners, might I add-- broke out into song.
"Oohhhh the water! OOOH-OHHHH THE WATER!"
I peered over the edge down at them and they were gesturing toward the lake, smoking, and drinking with giant smiles on their faces.
I just smiled to myself and quietly sang along.
