Yeah and nick cave was 'supporting'. the first half of the show was grinderman and the second was nick. It was an incredible show.

17 is like being 16 but people expect you to stop shouting at random times and throwing things at people who annoy you. I fear i will never grow out of these things. but i did sort out my teenage dilemas. donkey voted for prefects, bullshitted my way through exams and creativly asked a girl to the formal. Grinderman live....luckkyyy. When im going to melbourne in jan there are no good concerts apart from jose gonzalez and hes boring.

also, i saw grinderman a few weeks ago. They were amazing. Nick Cave is so entertaining

One of my friends thought tickets would be easy to get thus did not buy any. sucks to be her. i am in Townsville. aka hell. its already 32 degrees everday. as soon as i finish school i am so moving out. yes i know that was cliched

oh right. where are you from again? that sucks man. I hear tickets on ebay are a couple of hundred already. i don't think i'd be paying that much.....

umm. i really really want to go. but i dont have a spare 5/600 for tickets + flights + accommodation. Might be driving through sydney/gold coast in early jan with the family though. its all up in the air :(

I'm not a fan of powderfinger or silverchair i have to say.
I used to love powderfinger when i was in highschool though, so every now and then i take out internationalist and have a lot of fun listening to it. Belter is still an awesome song.

I have just come back from seeing The Cops, Gyroscope and The Herd. The Cops were sloppy but got me jumping around. The Herd were yuck. Gyroscope were loud but the crowd seemed to like them.

For some reason I never got into You Am I. I will certainly give them a second chance.

I listened to Grinderman for a while, for some reason Chain of Flowers is my faviroute of theirs. What can I Say? I am a romantic.

I steadfastly refuse to listen to the cat empire AND cat power. Neither of them are my scene.

I am now listening to Super Tarantula! by Gogol Bordello. 25$ well spent? perhaps....

Yo - Here are some of my favourite aussie bands if you're interested...

You Am I and Timmy Rogers' solo work go down a treat. Do you not like you am i? They're fuckin great, please listen to them.
Believe it or not The Whitlams had some good stuff when they first started out. They're first CDs, introducing and undeniably, have some good songs on them...and then some not so good ones. Introducing is a whole lot of fun though. I wouldn't recommend getting undeniably on second thought. Those 2 CDs are so 'highschool' to me, so maybe it's the memories that make me love them.....

Check out Belles Will Ring - I'm not just saying this because I know them and the singer is my best friend's boyfriend. They're really good and they're album is going really well. It's called Mood Patterns and you can pick up this little gem at JB HiFi, if that's any indication of how well they're going. It gets a bit slow in the middle, but mostly I think this ablum is rockin' and you should like it. Trust me and buy it or check them out on myspace.

While you're on Myspace check out these sydney bands; Sister Jane, The Holy Soul and Maple Trail. They're all friends with Belles and there's a bit of an incest thing going on with using eachothers band members.

If you ever get the chance to go see Watussi live you definately should. They don't work well on record but live - holy crap, they go off.
If you can sift through their crap, The Cat Empire have some INCREDIBLE songs. It's such a pity they make such terrible music and only spit out gems here and there. How To Explain? on their first album is my happy song - it's genius.

Have you heard any music from Saddleback? I'm still waiting for my order to come in at JB HiFi, so I haven't heard his album but from what I've heard on FBi - i likey.

If you like Nick Cave, take a look at Grinderman - his new band. You may not like them because they're nothing like the bad seeds. It's raw and ultra masculine. I'm going to go see them in a couple of weeks and I'm very excited.

I go to gigs every now and then. Mostly friend's bands. I actually live in the Blue Mountains (maybe you've heard of it...?) so I'm an hour out of Sydney, which makes it difficult to go out there at night. That combined with my dislike for sydney means I don't go there often.

I am looking forward to the Grinderman (supported by nick cave) concert and Timmy Rogers' new album launch though.

Well I dont mind sydney, everything more expensive though. I usually go there during the summer sometime. I noticed chasers was on your tv shows. I was stage with them a few weeks ago for an ABC celebration thing. It was the highlight of my life.
