Yeah, that's cool. I'm not sure, but i may be moving soon as well.

I say later as opposed to now since I'm moving in about two weeks and I'm unsure of exactly what my new adress will be, aswell as the fact I'll be busy settling in, getting to know the people I'll be living with, etc. etc.

There is only so much you can do with 6, or 4 strings and a set of notes that have been pre-defined centuries ago, originality lies in delivery, not the actual song writing itself if you ask me. Also, don't do what I did, don't throw away ideas because you think they're "unoriginal", you'll never write anything that way. Just fucking rock out and play what feels right.

Well, the obstacle there is like twofold...number one, i really don't know anything about percussion, so i'd probably end up just ripping off other bands drumbeats, either consciously or unconsciously. But maybe that's just paranoia on my part, that i'm trying so hard to do something new that i'm deathly afraid of not suceeding in that ambition, and that it's not really a super-complex instrument.
The other obstacle is that i really do want another person involved, even if i use a drum machine to have someone manipulating it live, or perhaps playing some other instrument. And i do like the guy who i play with, even though i'm not sure if he's still alive or what. He wasn't familiar with emo (and as that's obviously a big influence on me), so i made him a mix cd called "Attack of the self-titleds" and i just put a bunch of emo bands' self-titled trecords on it (Orchid, Neil Perry, Please Inform the Captain..., Mohinder, Hassan I Sabbah, a few others), and he really enjoyed it, the last time i talked to him.

Do it. Get an Alesis SR-16. The sounds are crap, but it's got far more potential than most drum machines that just work in 16 steps. You can program in quintuplets if you're patient enough, and get a footswitch to control it and things. You could be a one man band of screamo/noise/no-wave awesome.

I'm still working on getting my shit together where that's concerned, though i have not seen my drummer since we saw Boris together...a bit over two months ago. I don't think that bodes well.
In truth, i may just have to get a drum machine and name it Marc Bianchi.

Well, that's a given really. How's the whole band shenanigans going? I want to hear demos/bootleg rehearsal recordings ASAP, cause the ideas sounded pwn.

And they're all so amazing. I guess i'm just pretty awesome.
