Bonjour. It feels a bit like the MTC is fading away. No Eric or Corey for a while now. I would hate this place to hit the old electronic graveyard. It would be cool if it could be prevented!

I don't think so. Mine was a rabbit mix: quick in the lead but it has already lost its momentum. I predict 6th place for me.

I know my mix was not that great, I kept changing my mind about what I wanted to do. I think yours is going to take the points my friend

the only thing on tap these days for me is water! By the way, Shane was in the Pogues for "The Band Played Waltzing Mathilda" I thought?

My drinking days are slowing down. Recovery time is too great. Not quite as spry as I once was. We can always admire the simple beauty of a black pint with its beige cap... for art's sake.

Yeah. It's very stange that my mixtapes shoot up to the top like that. I don't want to seem competitive or anything.

Glitter first got into trouble in England when he put his computer in to PC World to be serviced, and the tech guys there found kiddie porn on it. Not only a paedophile, but an inept one at that. I did agonise over putting him on the mix, but completist that I am, I did. I had a cousin in the 70s who used to get his mother to make him costumes like Gary Glitter. Neither here nor there, but it came to mind!

No worries. I wasn't trying to scold you or anything. You are like a journalist, in that you are reporting on the facts of a story. And it's a fact that Gary Glitter was a part of the glamrock movement. Thus to be complete he probably should be included. And you did put an asterisk in your description.

It is odd that the man has been on the run for so long and only just this year have sports teams banned playing the song at games.

I am no fan of Gary Glitter either, I think the man is odious and vile but back in the day we found his music funny. The more I think about it though, the more I wish I had of excluded him from the mix.

I was thinking about a Clapton - DYlan link. Clapton did an album in the early 80s called Backless. Dylan wrote the first song on the first side. Can't think of what it was called, but I am sure Dylan sang on it as well. I was at The Blackbushe Festival in England in 78, and Claton was second on the bill to Dylan and they did play together. I actually like doing this link thing, as you can see.

I was just telling someone else how I wanted the Kinkajou Guinness tin. "Just think what Kink-a-jou can do!" Or something thike that.
I've only seen that one in Ireland though.

I love the Guiness Toucan that you have! When I was a small kid many moons ago, my parents would take me to Brighton, a seaside town about sixty miles from where we lived. Down by the beach, they had this animated clock made by Guiness, and on the hour, the Guinness Toucan would appear and lots of parts moved, and it played music. (The advertising jingle was something like "Can you do what a toucan do" or something like that. A crowd would gather to see this thing all the time. One year we went down there and it was gone, and I was pretty upset at the time!

Thanks for the encouragement. I'm reading a book of the letters of Paul Bowles. He mentions one of his short stories was rejected 17 times. I gues it happens to the best of us.

I thought that once you found a publisher your troubles were over, but in many ways, that is when they really begin. That was my experience with the non-fiction book I got published anyway. I did learn a few things which I hope will help me with the novel. I have two non-fiction works planned for next year, one of which has a publisher lined up. Good luck with your project.

That's great. I've recently finished a novel and am querying agents at the moment. Rough going for the first-time novelist. But the rejections are getting more personal (not just the photo-copied form letter anymore) so that's positive.

Hello. You asked what I write? Mainly music pieces. I have one co-authored book out, "Blowing The Blues" written with and about the late British jazz and blues sax player Dick Heckstall-Smith. I am working on my first novel, which will be out hopefully by April next year.
