I don't know why The Clash became a summer only band to me. I listen to them at other times of year but it feels wrong and makes me miss summer. Summer driving in particular.

I always saw 'The black eyed dog" as Drakes personal demon, and the song as a companion piece to Robert Johnson's "Hellhound on my trail." More useless trivia, but check out the song "Solid Air" by John Martyn...it is about Drake, who was a close friend.

I always hear people talking about how "Black Eyed Dog" is scary, but I never really saw it that way myself. Mellow, slightly haunting, balmy night-y, but never scary. That's really interesting about how it was recorded though, I've never heard that before.
