Yeah protests are pretty fun but I get a kick out of letter writing campaigns too :P

Congrats on your new job! That's great. I'll be doing volunteer gigs this summer but I will also be doing anything I can to get some extra cash together for a trip in the fall.

I play publicly, on street corners and sometimes at open mic nights. I haven't played in any clubs yet but I haven't asked, plus I'm too young to play in most of the local venues. Oh well, I get a couple of bucks whenever I busk downtown anyway.

i've never been to a protest before! sounds fucking exhilarating. i'm doing quite well. just started a new job so i won't be all broke and lame this summer.

Haha, I'm good! Actually I'm a little hoarse. I was at a protest at the CA state capitol yesterday against the gay marriage ban. Lots of yelling!

Re The Air That I Breathe -- isn't it? I love it! I spent a good couple of weeks listening to it constantly and then I decided I had to learn to play it so now it's one of my covers that I do. :P
