I often go to yard sales in search of old mix tapes people are getting rid of. I've collected several of these and so I've decided to share a few. The first I share is dated Auguest 22 1990 and is on MEMOREX dbs tape with a picture of a sandy beach with palm trees taped to the cover insert for artwork. A note inside the cover reads: I LOVE YOU ALWAYS AND FOREVER. -MOLLY

It's nice to think that someone is adopting old mixtapes. I have a whole crowd of them I have lots of affection for and don't want to get rid of — even though I no longer own a cassette player!

The 250th Album Badge
I also love finding other people's old mixtapes. I found one entitled: Izzy's Jazzy Music.....and it's not very "jazzy" at all. In fact, Paula Abdul is on the mix.
When I find these unabashedly sincere mush mixes and I'm in a cynical mood, it just makes me think about the power of these chemicals running through our brains. Other times, if I'm feeling maudlin and such, I think that musical taste doesn't matter if someone loves someone.
