so this excites me for two reasons.. i just finished a semester of british lit and we covered it extensively.. and because neil gaiman is on the screenplay..
so, yeah. beowulf is coming to the big screen in 2007. and the dude who did I-Robot & Monster House is doing the animation for grendel and his mother.

Beowulf came to the screen a few years back as well. It was called the 13th Warrior and starred Antonio Banderas. It was based on Michael Crichton's "Eaters of the Dead" which in turn was a retelling of Beowulf.

and there wasnt one scene in that movie that i could make out the actors from the shadows. it was an "ok" movie, but this i have high hopes for

I don't recall the actors, so it wasn't that. I just remember being very unenthused at the end of the preview.
