I'm skipping school one more year, so it's work work work until next fall. Then it's art history, can't wait to study that. Everything's great, I'm still living on my own (with a friend), trying to save up a little. Went to Paris with my boyfriend last month, I will definitely be doing that soon again.

Yeah CNNNN is one of my favourite shows. Well it's really old, it's not on anymore. The same guys have another show called The Chaser. It's all about current events (mainly australian) so you probably wouldn't understand a lot of the jokes. You should take a look at more CNNNN stuff though if you liked that because it's really fuckin funny. Fun for all the family.

You could do both though you know. Journalism might make a good full time job, and you could pursue short story writing in your spare time.

I think the degree fallout is the same here in Denmark, and I think travelling sounds like a sweeeet choice. Perhaps you can make it to Denmark this time? Nah, i'm definately not studying ever again. I don't know how it is where you are, but in australia a degree can get you into a lot of different kinds of jobs. It doesn't really matter what your degree is. They just want to know that you studied. It's silly i know, but it works in my favour. ;)

The weekend went down all right. I didn't get wasted, and I stayed in Saturday, which wasn't the plan, but I managed to hook up with the greatest guy ever on Friday and we went to see The Darjeeling Limited (oh my god, I love Wes Anderson, and so does he).
Uni break til the end of Feb sounds fab. My holidays ended on 7 January, but the next one (Winter break) is only a month from happening. You're looking forward to getting out of uni? You can say that again. My entire family is Muslim, and I think I made the mistake to tell them (my cousins, whom I'm very close to) about my party habits at one or two occassions. it means the assignment was worth 40% of my total grade for that subject. So yeah, it was an important assignment.

I know how it feels, I think, I always sit and edit and then re-edit what I just edited until the last minute because I'm such a perfectionista, but really, I generally enjoy working under pressure. As for music reviewing, I have thought a great lot about it since I've always wanted to work for some kind of music magazine or in the culture section of newspapers. But I'm still not sure if it's my, er, right element. I still think I need to build up my reference library into motherfucking king size so that I can write swell, and swell only, reviews.

Compared to news writing you can see why everyone wants to do it hey? You actually have a bit of freedom (not just re-writing media releases), you can even have a personality when you're writing *gasp* and joke around if you want to. Do you get me?

OK, I may have said it in a wrong way. What I meant: In English there are two/three ways, yes (ie. am, are, is), and in Danish there is only one (ie. er). We still have to conjugate the verb considering the time, you know, present, past, future etc.

wow i had no idea how similar swedish, norwegian and danish were. That's pretty cool. Even if you were to never learn another language you'd still kind of be multi-lingual. kind of.

All Scandinavian languages? Nah, Finnish is nothing like Danish, Swedish, Norwegian... But those are really alike, you can have a conversation across these three languages and understand each other. Danish grammar is very simple; we have 2 ways of saying "a/an" and 2 ways of saying "the", and the difference is one letter (either it's en or it's et), but that's very difficult to outsiders to learn, because really it's just guessing, I guess. And we only have one way of conjugating verbs. I mean, we don't have sing.pluralis etc. I am, he is, you are, we are..., it's all the same in Danish: Jeg er, han er, du er, vi er. But of course our pronunciation system is pretty fucked up (oh, and that word, er, it's pronounced like the English word 'air'). For an outsider, I mean. It's not like French or German where there are rules, it would be difficult for you to read any Danish sentence out loud correctly.

Once we argued so much, he left the room and said he never wanted to borrow any of my things again, and I felt so bad, I couldn't even read myself. I hate him for that. (I also recently lent him $1000 and I doubt I'll be seeing any of them in a long while, if ever). Fortunately he had just moved in his new appartment when the sixth book came out, so he didn't really have the time to stop by and bother me all the time.

Well i have a problem. I don't like hard cover books so i;ve bought the whole series in paper back. It takes ages for them to bring it out in paperback though. My sister has already pre-ordered it, but she's an incredibly slow reader.
So... I think i'm going to sneak into her room and steal it whenever she's not reading it and try and get as much in as possible. Or lock her in her room and force her to read it in one big go. I haven't decided yet.

I'm sorry, I meant 2000, but yeah, they were out in English a year before that, I think. The 7th book is out now, yeah?, but it won't be 'til Autumn until they have it translated here. :( I fucking hate the translator for translating so many unnessesary things, like, names, spells etc. It makes it hell to pick a copy in English now, because a lot of the characters' surnames are different in the Danish edition and so on. I tried that with the fifth book back then, because my vocabulary had developed enough for me to read in English, but I got sick of trying to figure out who was who, because I would hate to miss a point somewhere.
Yeah, I'll definitely cry like a bitch too. Almost half my life has been Harry Potter-dominated, it's going to be fucking sad no matter how jolly the story ends (which it totally won't, I'm guessing).

It was my about-to-get-married cousin, and appearently the wedding is postponed, AND is going to be held in Turkey somewhere this summer. Which sucks balls, because I can't afford that kinda trip at the moment, and because my mom's pregnant, I would have to travel with my cousin's family, which is a no-go, because that entire family gets on my nerves already with their wedding prep and whatnot. Besides, I don't want to spend my entire summer vacation in Turkey with a bunch of people who would never let me put on a nice mixtape in the car. Bitches.
Nevertheless, I am still going to tave a look at the travel/scenery mixes. Maybe I'll do a train trip here in Denmark instead, just for fun.

I don't know if our schooling system looks much like other countries' in Europe, but I doubt it actually. Anyhow, I dig it.

My former best friend (she came to Denmark in 2002 because her father had some work to do, and went back to Iceland two years later) has been to Australia, England and various other places backpacking in every single vacation the past two years, and I'm turning green every time she tells me about it.

I have travelled a bit. I lived in Switzerland for a year and saw quite a bit of europe in that time. Then i went back a year later to see all the places i'd missed.
You must be able to speak a few languages but. I can only speak English and German. I got by when i was italy cos i learnt italian in highschool for two years. I was supposed to be taking spanish this year at university but it didn't work out with my time table... I was very sad about that.

In fact, we've got a study group kind of thing going on at the moment because of math exams this Friday, and today, while everyone was busy trying to figure out math and shit, I sat in the corner with a Calvin and Hobbes comic and tried not to laugh out loud and break everyone's concentration. Of course I failed at doing just that, big time.

Ever been to switzerland? i lived there for a while and they have this daily little newspaper thing that they give out for free. it was a crap newspaper but it was free.
calvin and hobbes was in the comic section. every day i would read it/translate it. calvin and hobbes basically taught me German. Plus, it's one of the funniest comics i've ever read.

But I know a few tracks by the Whitlams too! It was very random though. One day I felt like searching for songs with 'hamburger' in its title, and that's how I found my first Whitlams-song. Then I downloaded "No Aphrodisiac" - LOVE IT, btw. - and "Where Is She?". Haha.

Well there you go. That's awesome that you've heard a bit of Goyte. Did you like it? I'm not the greatest fan but i really love a few of his songs.
I'd be very surprised though if you had heard the whitlams track. They are reasonably big in australia, but i only like their first 2 CDs from early 90s and no one really knows their early work.

I wasn't aware that they were Australian, but I listened to some music at a friend's place once, and I remember that we listened to some tracks off an album called Like Drawing Blood (I remember looking her iTunes library through (or, mainly just the Playing Now list)). I can definitely recall the track Hearts a mess. For serious.

sorry the mountains in the picture certainly are blue, but unfortunately they're not THE blue mountains. They look like the alps to me. The Blue Mountains are more like hills compared to those mountains.

I don't know what Blue Mountains picture it is, but it's in my gallery, if I uploaded correctly.
I looked up the Three Sisters as you told me, and you're right - they're kinda fab! I love how the one in the middle has a very pointy top opposed to the two others. And cool names!! Plus Wikipedia got a nice picture of them, with lots of eucalyptus in the background making it blue... Haha, I still can't get over the fact that Australia's got all the eucalyptus in all the world.

I found it on iTunes, and it wasn't part of no single, but part of a soundtrack to some Sarah Michelle Gellarfellar movie called Simply-- Simply Irresistible? I don't know what it is, but the tag lines go something like, "Magic opened up their heart... Love did the rest". Eh? ANYWAY. Nice song. The album cover sucks, though. I hate SMG great big times...

Blue Mountains, what a wonderful name. Actually, I am thinking about travelling to Australia, or perhaps New Zealand, when I finish what you may call high school in two years time. But I'm not sure if I can cope with it because I also have to find myself an appartement when I'm 18 etc. etc. :(

Well i live in the Blue Mountains, which is about an hour west of sydney and it is extremely beautiful. My house backs on to the bush and i've seen many a wallabe (like a small kangaroo). You can't visit sydney without a trip to the blue mountains.

It is a very nice spot, yes. But you may want to visit the capital, Copenhagen, otherwise I'm not sure how exciting it is. Plus the landscape is the most boring in all of the world, opposed to such amazing places like Australia. I noticed you live in Sydney, but still, you must have seen all kinds of edges of the nature, no? Like, kangaroos, those gigantic rocks/mountains even? etc.
