yeah it was a great day for $5. i spent sooooo much money on alcohol though!
yeah everyone had something to say about howard and work choices but i loved it. i have a very strong political opinion and i love to hear people giving him shit.
that was what the whole day was about anyway. i wasn't there for the bands that's for sure. (i came across some people that went just for the cheap gig which was highly annoying, but hey they gave us more numbers in the end)

That sounds pretty good, especially seeing how it was only $5 or something wasn't it? Were many of the bands pushing annoying political agendas?

i didn't get to see beasts of bourbon cos i was in line waiting to go to the toilet. (each band only played three songs!)
but tex played with magic dirt and he's still got it. i don't much like magic dirt though

yeah it was great cos i haven't seen you am i live for years.
tim rogers is still wonderful to watch even when he's just playing guitar. he even decided it was a good idea to take his shirt off.
oh yeah i forget that guy was in rehab. i guess he's back. he has the worst hair ever.

You mean Phil Jameson or whatever? I hate that guy. I thought he got put away after being too addicted to ice. I'm thoroughly NOT looking forward to grinspoon's new album.
Still, You Am I live. I wouldn't complain.
How were the Beasts of Bourbon?

I saw You Am I play at the rockin for rights protest yesterday. Timmy sang Get Up, which i thoroughly enjoyed dancing to, and then he got that FUCKIN DICKHEAD from Grinspoon out to sing the rest of the set. It was fucked.
I thought i'd tell you that

man that's nuts. i was listening to CDB when i was 11.... i guess you don't even know who they are. i feel really old all of a sudden.
just 2 years to go! you should write to you am i and ask them to play an underaged gig near you. tell them your story. you never know....

It was probably around then. Dress Me Slowly was 2001 I think, and that was when I was 11. I got into them around that time, at first it was a pretty Saturday Morning Rage affair, but then I got the record and sort of followed them since.
Being underage does suck. Seeing good shows is pretty rare for us underagers.

oh i didn't realise you were under aged... that must suck.

I've been waiting about five years for them to play an all age show in Melbourne, and they still haven't. I think the new dvd's a concert they recorded for JTV which I still have on tape. It's pretty good, a few old favourites.
3/20/07 12:44am
i imagine the new stuff would go down well cos it's so upbeat. it sounds fun from what i've heard of the album, which isn't much. still haven't had the guts to buy it.
ohhh you should definately look into seeing them live. they have new music dvd out now actually. haven't seen it though

From what I've heard the new stuff goes down really well live, and apparantly they're still playing all the old favourites. I'm a little ashamed to say I've never actually seen them play.
3/14/07 12:28am
lol, no i didn't either. i think i asked you that cos i was wondering how YOU AM I played. Someone i know said they were fantastic, but they had never seen them before. i was curious to know if they were still up to scratch.

A month from today you asked me if I went to the big day out. I really need to visit this site more. Anyway, the answer is no. I was poor, and the line-up didn't seem that great. Did you? Highlights?
3/11/07 9:32pm
hey, did you go to the big day out?

Cronulla looks nice, so it's not the true definition of a hole. but the people there sure have proved that they are top notch bogans.
I was so ashamed to be Australian that day.
i don't know why i never got into hi fi way.... it just never did it for me.
deliverance has some of the most beautiful songs timmy has ever written. His most honest album yet.

Frankston is probably the Victorian equivelant of Cronulla (providing that's as bogany as I assumed.)
Convicts isn't too bad. It's nothing on the earlier stuff but still... It's really just a rock and roll record, with more energy than you am i have had in ages and some decent lyrics, still, none of the songs are that memorable. It would go down well live though.
Purple sneakers, how much is enough, cathy's clown, jewels and bullets, she digs her. How can you not dig Hi-fi Way? I haven't really listened to Deliverance much. From what I've heard it didn't really impress me that much though.

i don't know where that is but i'm guessing it's a hole. thanks, nice to know someone's with me.
i don't like hi-fi way much. hourly daily is brilliant of course, but i'm really loving deliverance at the moment.....
have you heard convicts? i hear it's a piece of shit... i'm too scared to buy it

Hey. It's always nice meeting someone who knows about Australian music. You Am I are definitely in the top five Australian bands ever. You just can't go past Hourly Daily and Hi-fi Way.
Haha, I liked your Piss Off The Bogans list. I can definitely feel that one. I live not too far from the infamous Frankston so I feel your pain.
