Below you will find the extracted and combined tags between cst003's and johnny_luddite's tagboard, arranged in chronological order for your viewing pleasure.Yeah, I've been gigging. We have a myspace page (www.myspace.com/stepsonsblues) with tracks/video/lies etc, but at present we are in a bit of turmoil due to a booking agent who turned out to be bogus. No fool like an old fool. I am doing ok though, and I will check that track out. How is life with you?

8/14/09 12:57am
i dont know if youve heard it, but check out the LCD Soundsystem track "Losing My Edge" and tell me if it amuses you as much as I think it will..
8/14/09 12:49am
Bet your drunken air piano version of 'In The Air Tonight' was still better than Collins!
3/24/09 3:56pm
oh man, i got real drunk last weds at a bar in austin and karaokeed "In The Air Tonight" and played the air piano... it was glorious
3/24/09 1:39am
im trying for sure. i actually burned myself out on my music... blame the damned ipod. so im discovering new music and slowly building new mixes.

11/14/07 11:04pm

THUNDERBIRDS GO!
dmb is sorta niche, i guess. their earlier work is brilliant, but i cant def see the overused & trite lables they get nowadays. even i hardly recognize anything theyve done after before these crowded streets..
&& that mix was made mainly because i get bored at night here at my aunt's and decided to keep going through my ipod until i stumbled upon a song i thought decent enough to include in something each night, then i shuffled them into an order that had a good flow.

word. not saying it wasnt a perfect mix [it was] it was just one of those "obvious" picks i thought was going to be onit :)
8/16/07 10:37pm
I did think of putting the JJ Cale original of Cocaine on the Just Sing No Mix.
8/16/07 10:22pm
awesome. im gonna have to give them a watch. godbless bbc on dvd. and to a somewhat similar extent, bbc-a.
7/17/07 6:01pm
Dr Who is on season three now and the second Doctor since it came back. The first 'new' one I didn't like, but the next one, David Tennant is great, the scripts are funny and very good. The spinoff show 'Torchwood' is really good as well. A more adult take on the whole thing. I just watched series three a day or so after each episode aired in the Uk thanks to the wonders of the net
7/17/07 5:29pm
& we share the same dream of what the future holds. i cannot wait until i am old enough to get away with anything. i long for the day that i walk out the emergency exit without a second thought.
7/17/07 4:04pm
best story ever. have you seen the new incarnation? im wondering if its any good.
7/17/07 4:01pm
When I was six, my sister and I were at a Doctor Who exhibition in London, right back near when it started. A Dalek pinned her against the wall and she screamed. I don't think I have ever been happier. I was the kid whose sister was almost killed by a dalek. The fame, the glory...
7/17/07 2:14pm
BTW One of the songs that I didn't use on my mixtape but almost did was a cover of an early Bowie tune, 'Little Boy Blue' by Brit 60s rock and roll singer Billy Fury.
7/2/07 7:51pm
Thanks mate. All that really matters to me is that I truly had fun putting the Bowie theme together. There were a couple of points where I was struggling but that was the fun part.
7/2/07 7:44pm
haha, i havent seen that one yet.. i prolly will one day.
i seriously hope you win this contest. the fact that you fit the format with bowie STILL makes my heart skip a beat..

I love you too! I also love the fake competition in Monty Pythons Big White Bok where it says that you can win Lulu or the cash equivalent!
7/2/07 6:29pm
I didn't even hear Kid A to be honest, I was just so sick of the hype concerning OK Computer I went elsewhere for my vicarious music thrills
6/28/07 1:54pm
if you liked the eraser, then youd prolly dig hail to the thief. it's more of that gloomy techno-beat with him wailing over it.. but more solidified in the rock realm than their previous offerings [kid a/amnesiac]
6/28/07 8:23am
There are at least two Kings inside the gates of eden, Freddie and Albert!
6/27/07 10:40pm
Nothing wrong with switching directions, Bowie did it all the time, I think most artists with something to say usually find lots of different ways to say it. I actually meant I just liked the first few singles of Radiohead. It is everything after 'Creep' I lost interest with, not a fan of 'OK Computer' for instance, so I lost them long before the big change in direction. I liked Thom Yorkes solo thing actually.
6/27/07 10:39pm
i understand about the newer radiohead. they did completely switch directions on everyone... but then again, so did the beatles. i picked that track for the atmospherics & the fact that it doesnt contain vocals.

Here is a list of ten albums you might not have heard and which I think you should. It isn't a 'My Top 10' list though.
1. Inside Out - John Martyn (stoned experimental jazzy bluesy stuff.)
2. Down By The Jetty - Doctor Feelgood (Third generation white UK R&B)
3. Bless The Weather - John Martyn (Sexy folk rock)
4. Then Play On - Fleetwood Mac (Peter Green's last studio album with Mac. Moving away from blues to something beautiful but never quite realised)
5. SF Sorrow - The Pretty Things (First rock opera ever. imperfect and all the better for it)
6. Forever Changes - Love (melodic rock at it's best)
7. Celtic Steppes - Dick Heckstall-Smith (Jazz symphony with an eye to the past. Not the album it should have been, but with great moments)
8. There's A Bond Between Us/The Sound Of 65 - The Graham Bond ORGANization (You can find a cd with both albums on. The mid 60s lineup of GBO was Graham Bond - keys and sax, Dick Heckstall-Smith - tenor and alto sax, Jack Bruce - Bass, Ginger Baker - drums. Hear the true birth of fusion years before it supposedly existed.)
9. Shoot Out The Lights - Richard & Linda Thompson (Thompson emerged as a genius in my eyes at least with this album)
10. BB King - Live At The Regal (I don't expect to hear a better live blues album, but I live in hope)

you're too kind sir. im not all that familiar with collins' political views, all i know is i cant get enough of 'we cant dance' right now... i am forever doomed to be stuck in the 80s, and i like it ;)
im planning a 102, as i left off a good hour of music on this first one. it becomes obvious once you press activate, i find...

im actually looking to your mix for the win in this contest sir! good selection AND PRINCE! :D
11/16/06 8:27pm
Cheers Mate. I could not contemplate a sex mix without Bjork, or Joni come to that. Looking forward to an early contest entry from you!
11/16/06 8:03pm
i know what you mean, bowie's slowburn was amazing.. and the newest bob dylan ive heard was what he did for WonderBoys, and i loved that. but, its also possible for once great artists to fall to the badbad wayside, a la michael jackson. i still love his earlier work, but im not so sure he should have been so popular for so long. prince kind of went insane, but i think thats forgivable given the situation (the 80s)
10/31/06 10:19pm
I agree with Andre 3000, but I am still hoping there is some life in the old Prince. There was a guy in England a few years back called Andrew Roachford who had the voice and the songs, but he faded away pretty quickly. Thing is with artists like Bowie or Prince, they can go through a rough spell, but they always have the ability to change direction and get back!
10/31/06 5:39pm
it's been said before (and i tend to agree with them) that andre 3000 has the potential to be our new prince. the love below is a masterpiece.
10/31/06 11:31am
I started listening to Outkast via 'Idlewild' and now I am working my way back. There is a creativity at work there you don't see in many other places.
10/30/06 8:14pm
Cheers mate. Beth Goibbons of Portishead has made at least one album, maybe several as "Beth Gibbons & Rustin' Man".
10/25/06 10:08pm
possibly maybe is my second favourite bjork track ever. it's not up to you wins #1 spot tho. vespertine is her only album i can continually listen to.. everything else gets sort of worn after a time & i need to put it up so it doesnt get old.
10/25/06 9:11pm
glad my mix helped.
i always find its great to get musicians to be angsty for you, so you dont need to do it for so long.
thanks for the notes on my mixes as well.
you're still absolutely stunning at this. im in awe.

havent heard of the beth + rustin collab.
and yeah, bjork was kinna behind the scenes there i think. she dated tricky for a while, wrote some songs for him (and he for her). they prolly all did something together somewhere. :)

Thanks for all the comments on the mixes. My turn to have a shite day and that cheered me up. Thanks especially for the mix. I saw that you don't know many of the bands on the "Punk before Punk" mix, so I will get that together tonight and send you a link.
10/25/06 3:48pm
im enabling a function that will allow you to get my shitty mood mix.. see how you like it, expect a PM soon.
10/25/06 11:00am
yeah, ive heard people say they hated F. Apple as well.. that song was actually what inspired my season mix, so i had to include it. i think the thing that stuck with me when i fell into her music/voice was she was only 16 years old when she wrote/recorded her first album
10/23/06 11:26am
Nothing but praise for your position in the competition, by the way!
10/19/06 11:39am
Team Robot might have come second, but I hear there are some who appreciate that ability!
10/19/06 11:38am
i had no idea he was releasing a new album. the last 'new' dylan i heard was the song he did for the film the wonder boys. i liked that, his voice was kind of waits-esque. cant wait to hear the new stuff!
