Yeah, thats the line-up i saw for them touring Rainbow. It was so sick. I like smile also, but to be honest It hasnt kept my attention as much as their last few, but I love the stuff on it. I honestly think I may have over saturated myself with boris for a little while there and I just need a little break. I would see them live any time though. Amazing.

DUDE! I saw Boris again two nights ago, and I swear it was even better than the first time. Oh man, so fucking rad. They played all of Smile, along with the songs Pink, Floor Shaker, and Rainbow. And fucking Michio Kurihara was touring with them as a third guitarist. I couldn't believe how sick it was.
And fuck the haters, I think Smile is a crackin' album.

Seriously, I'm in love with Animal Collective. Each of their albums has its own awesome vibe, and it always seems to match up with my life when I hear it. For example, I first heard their album Feels when I was starting high school, and the music was a perfect soundtrack to how happy and expectant of things to come I was. I was like a newborn babe shat into the face of civilization. And the record matched perfectly.
Now they release Strawberry Jam, and it's way different but still matches up with how I'm feeling. I just got my heart broken for the third time in one year, school has sucked, my parents are getting a divorce, I've been drifting away from all my best chums, etc. And the album is the perfect soundtrack to that. All the best songs on it (cos some really aren't that great) are uncertain and wistful, but at the same time have a good optimistic vibe. It's not even optimism. It's just like they're saying, "C'est la vie, Aaron. But you still got shit to look forward to."
It's hard to explain, but that's why I really dig them.

Nothing much, man. Today was our first day back at school after a week off for spring break, so I'm trying to readjust to my normal shitty schedule. Right now I'm finishing up an article for my school's newspaper about the San Francisco International Film Festival, which is about to celebrate its 50th anniversary. That whole deal is neat, because I'm getting a press pass to cover / review the whole thing.
