You're right, the rustic is the ugliest bar, I think it has the weirdest mix of people. A lot of dudes with shirts that weren't buttoned up far enough, and I wasn't a fan of the juke box. I spent one night trying to get some jack ass from a Nirvana cover band (awesome!) to keep his penis away from my sister.

Yeah, I dont blame you for hating the Rustic. It sucks pretty bad, but I dunno, Ive always had a funny time there. I call it the Ugliest Bar in LA. The Red Lion is across the street from the ChaCha but I havent gone yet. I sang SURRENDER with David Yow from the Jesus Lizard at the ChaCha's karaoke night. That was fucking sweet. The guys from the Melvins are always hanging out there too. Plus cheap drinks all the time.

Yeah, I hear ya. I have a friend who lives in Eagle Rock and I tried to find an open gas station out there one nnight at it was the most infuriating thing ever. The only Area thats close enough for me to walk to, that I would want to walk to is up on Vermont and Hillhurst. I like some of the stuff up there, even if it is a tad whatever.

I was in Eagle Rock for less than a year, I felt very detached from things in general. Nothing was 24 hours, gas stations closed at 9 pm, it was ridiculous. It's not that everything here is 24 hours or anything, it's just nice to be adjacent to something. 9 miles seemed like 100, and I can walk or take the train to almost anywhere. They did have a Target though. I miss Target. I miss decent food too.

Its a place called Hammerhead Productions. They do movies and commercials. I get to watch all of the green screen footage of movies in my free time. Its kinda entertaining to watch famous people acting to nothing on a green screen. Its in Sherman Oaks.

I've got some flu thing too! I think I contracted it at work, it's pretty disgusting. But apparently menthol cigarettes are ok. I'm just glad to get it over with now instead of later, but I would kill for some vaporub.

I have a cold flu thing which has made me leave work early two days in a row. Besides that everything is fine. Got a job at a VFX house as a bitch, and still living in Silverlake/East Hollywood area. All of my neighbors are very free-spirited. By that I mean, that they throw their trash on the ground, instead of in a trash can! Oh they so crazy!

I ended up having a blast at a party where I knew one person. I got wasted danced, taught some sorority chicks some dance moves, smooched on about five chicks (most of which were sorority chicks), helped a chick who cut off her finger get in the ambulance, backed my friends claim of being able to read palms to the previously mentioned sorority chicks, had a stomp war with a guy that accused me of taking said chicks (he was victorious), and went to bed at 5.

Its rough. My class has 58 people in it and there are 6 girls. All of them are completely bonkers too. Im surprised you didnt see any car accidents out front, because there is like one a day. Today a truck crashed into the tree in front. Lets just say it gets sad at our "film school" parties when some chicks show up. It's an old observatory in the hills, they just spent a gazillion $'s remodeling it and it's been closed for about 4 years. It's a bunch of astronomy/star/space/museum stuff, but it was a nice change from the usual. I watched some crazy movie on a dome and walked around taking pictures. I'm being absolutely serious.

I went to guitar center on sunset yesterday. I had to buy some $120 headphones for my sound design class. I dont think I would ever want to hear a guitar ever again if I worked there. Guitar Center should put out a series of "experimental" cd's that are just recordings of what their stores sound like. Each Cd could be titles what store location it is. Although, it is possible sonic youth might have done that already on a few of their albums.

When I moved here I just drove around late at night with whoever was willing and tried to figure shit out, looked for decent food establishments and places to live.
You know you have semi-music heaven across the street from your school? Yeahhh, it's pretty overwhelming and sometimes annoying but it's nice to visit. I also hear that people who aren't from the southwest enjoy in-n-out a lot, I'm sure you've been there already. There are also random bars within walking distance, but the best one in that area is the burgundy room.
