I don't frequent strip clubs and I'm not really a dancer. A recent trip to one made me realize that there has to be more to this than Def Leppard, Rob Zombie, and Ginuwine...right? I like to think this might be the best 40 minute lap dance ever.

I wish I lived in a place where the season changes were dramatic. I'd kill for the chapped lips that tell you fall has arrived and I want to be ostracized for wearing flip flops and short sleeved shirts in October.

I was cleaning my room a few days ago, and ended up on the ground going through old music. Boxes of old tapes, shutter racks of empty cd cases, cd cases with missing cds, cd cases cracked to hell, digipak and single cd's that are too thin to fit in said rack, a shoe box of 7 inches, some 10 inches and more 12 inches in ugly green crates. I scoffed at some of it, wondering what I was thinking and some of it made me laugh a little and reminisce like an old masochist. I was doing a lot of oooohhhhhing and ahhhhhing and I know why I had kept these particular pieces of music for whatever reason.
The whole idea was to clean my room, but I ended up making a bigger mess. It made me want to call up old friends and try to resurrect old relationships and made me a little angry, all in about an hour and a half.
These songs give/gave me the chills. I used a sort of chronological order and everything is relevant, and I wasn't too worried about how things fit together because they're all decent in their own right. I also tried to make them chronological in their release, but I can't help being a late bloomer in some situations. It's also late, and I'm getting kind of sad. This made me think of things that I haven't thought about in a long time.
I couldn't possibly fit everything, so I just narrowed it down to the most meaningful.

So I got a bicycle, and I love it, and after a big ol' lesson on how to change tires and tubes and what not, I decided to make an ode to my new boyfriend, which hopefully won't get stolen or crushed with me on it. I can't ride in the area where I am living right now because I'm scared of assholes driving, assholes driving on cell phones, drunks driving on cell phones, and drunk assholes driving on cell phones.
I'll be moving to korea town in a month, it's more bike friendly there. And I will be playing this when I get to my special place in the land of bbq, boba, and epileptic seizures caused by neon lights.

I tried my hardest to not repeat films and just pick music based off of how well it worked out in said film, leading to good music being cut. I also chose more recent films (I'm pretty sure nothing pre-1991).

i have been looking at this list for days, trying to make it better with no success and a lot of head aching. i have torn apart my tape cases and cds looking for song titles that fit together and trying to remember songs, and i can't look at this mix anymore. i wasn't going to put this up, because i think there is a better way, but i can't let go of the botch>de la soul>subtle connection. i'll admit that these aren't my favorite songs from these bands, some are better than others.

strange beats involving pianos and creepy guitars all around, and people mostly singing, and some just talking. this monday mix causes a raised eyebrow on my coworker's face and a smile on mine, while sitting in traffic on the 101 S. i threw in some upbeat stuff just to break it up, cause nobody likes a sleepy driver/worker.

Yeah, I dont blame you for hating the Rustic. It sucks pretty bad, but I dunno, Ive always had a funny time there. I call it the Ugliest Bar in LA. The Red Lion is across the street from the ChaCha but I havent gone yet. I sang SURRENDER with David Yow from the Jesus Lizard at the ChaCha's karaoke night. That was fucking sweet. The guys from the Melvins are always hanging out there too. Plus cheap drinks all the time.

Yeah, I hear ya. I have a friend who lives in Eagle Rock and I tried to find an open gas station out there one nnight at it was the most infuriating thing ever. I drove the MINI with the dogs to Minnesota. We stopped at the Bonneville Salt Flats to test the MINI land speed record. There was a 50 mph cross-wind, and it had just rained so the salt was a bit wet (and thus slightly unstable) but we hit 111 mph.

my opinion is "like gold", huh? haha... well, the prestige is good in its story development. the character dev. is just slightly lacking, but it didn't affect anything for me. and even when you have a sense of what's happening with the story, it still delivers. at least i thought. but i seem to like movies, recommend them to people, and then they end up not liking them. so who knows... maybe 7 out of 10 for me.

My mom told me about the book when I was young and she had a few of the characters mixed up. She told me it was about this teenager who was a slob and was always picking his acne. I think she confused Holden with his neighbor in the dorm. Anyway, I was (still am?) a nerd and had a hard enough time in high school and didn't need to read about some goddamn other kid's problems. Especially a disgusting kid. I'm glad that's all cleared up now.

well... i'm pleased to say that the only reason i do have a kitchenaid mixer is because of the deal i got on it. and i'm a huge sucker for a deal! what was normally $325 was reduced to $150.
its not that i actually needed a mixer in my life... i just couldn't say no when my mother-in-law raved about how good of a deal it was.
also, the color is black. i'm not really into color fads for kitchen crap. i guess i just don't have much "martha stewart" in me.

Some of what Dog Whisperer does is right on. For instance that little finger bite he does, and saying "shh!" when the dog is doing something bad. In the dog class I had Pipa in they told us to make up a "bad dog name". I could never yell it in public without embarrassment. Other people had stupid bad names like "Macaroni." Can you imagine me running agound the park yelling something like macaroni every time my dog lunged at a squirrel or duck? "Shh" is 100x better.

The Ginger Man is one of the finest pieces of writing of the 20th century. It is a fine choice. Sebastian Dangerfield is, perhaps, the biggest scoundrel in literature, yet he keeps you turning the pages.

I went to guitar center on sunset yesterday. I had to buy some $120 headphones for my sound design class. I dont think I would ever want to hear a guitar ever again if I worked there. Guitar Center should put out a series of "experimental" cd's that are just recordings of what their stores sound like. Each Cd could be titles what store location it is. Although, it is possible sonic youth might have done that already on a few of their albums.

I think it has its pro and its cons. His work is getting ever more adventurous with increases in available funds (I think he works as a graphic designer for a real job), but also it's leaning towards what he originally lashed out against in the art world. The whole idea of an "artist" as such, the idea that a work of art belongs to its creator as opposed to those who want to enjoy it. I dunno. I got wall and piece and you can sort of see his work change over time as he gained more of a reputation.
I still like his work though and I tend to take the idea of the artist and thier art being completely seperate even though each can give you a better understanding of the other.
