It all started with an innocent post to the local craigslist. Two summers ago, I was living in portland. I was single. I was lonely.
One night thursday night, all alone, I browsed through the 'Missed connections' section of the local craigslist personals -- this is where you can find some of the *weirdest* shit. I read through a few, nothing interesting, until I saw this: 'HANDSOME SOFTWARE DEVELOPER -- w4m -- 23'
The body read 'You: in the coffee shop inside Borders, yelling and throwing Splenda packets at some girl who mispronounced 'Ayn Rand' while talking to her date. Me: At the counter, buying 'Tantric Sex for Dummies,' a book on cooking, an AWK pocket-reference book and a book which detailed how much fun could be had with black powder. Also, I with 99 of my supermodel friends.
PS - 13 of them are from Brazil.'
Since I was yelling and throwing things (I was using mugs, not Splenda packets) at that sadly misinformed pseudo-intellectual type for butchering my favourite socialist's name, I thought I'd respond. . .

I despise mornings. Now that I'm not a lazy college kid, I actually have to get up at a reasonable hour and go somewhere to (hopefully) be productive. It's especially hard for me because sleep is like a glorious love affair with my bed and every morning, without fail, she attempts to seduce me to get back inside. A good soundtrack is my sleep-salt-peter.

At first, I simply sifted through my collection, picking and choosing my tracks, attempting to make a cream-of-the-crop makeout-mixtape. Once it was compiled and listened to a few times, something different began to emerge -- For each track, I found myself reminded of a particular place, time and girl in the past few years or so.

Installment one of my 'Wordless' franchise, this is a carefully thought out mix of a few of my favourite instrumental or otherwise wordless songs.

the board in the picture is a sector nine concave (my first longboard ever), but i replaced the wheels with some harder flywheels that make for better slides.. i also have several homemade decks: 2 speed boards.. one of them 3 feet long and one 4 feet, the 4 footer has 86mm wheels on it so it fucking HAULS.. the 3 footer has some flywheels that arent quite as hard as the sector 9, but still slide pretty well. i also have a 5 foot homemade shaped like the "Luke Nosewalker" or whatever, but instead of griptape its got surf wax so its made for barefooting.. pretty rad. i haven't made a new deck in a couple years though.

Yeah I think it could go either way. I dont really think it is tool, but it wouldn't surprise me if it was. Its supposedly the song that is going to start being played on the radio on the 14th.
