i generally listen to happier music, but here are the saddest songs I could find. I tried to stay away from lyrics and focus on the music, but some worked out with both.

After inventing a new math equation comparable to Issac Newton's 7th law of gravity, I plugged in the binary translation of some of my favorite songs, and a couple of not so favorite songs and the answer came out to this mix. Also I can't upload art, stupid new computer. sorry.

QC, White Ninja, and FREAKING Dr. McNinja, dude. That's what I'm freaking TALKING about. YES! Chuck Klosterman is a hero. However yes, you could do a bit better in the music department, maybe something a little more exciting. What I've heard of the Album Leaf is okay but a little bland. The Flaming Lips are always good. Maybe that can be your jumping off point. :P

I was getting a picture with Jimmy Eat World when I worked for a radio station, and I said "Okay, I'll get in the middle," which was quickly followed by a knee slap and a "Ha! THE MIDDLE!" They just shook their heads at me, thus reaffirming why I DON'T like them.
But I do like your webcomic list, Kerouac, Klosterman, and Gary Busey, so that makes up for your lack of SWEETNESS.
