I have a short musical attention span. I am always creating a new mixtape in my head. When I am not making out with my new computer, I am flipping burgers for money, drinking alcohol and having adventures with people I know, playing my roommate's Nintendo Wii, or dancing the night away at whatever gay club is having eighties night. I love new wave music, I hate all my clothes but am sure there is a fashionista lurking deep within me somewhere, and (lately especially) I never sleep.
Also, I really agonized over this whole "favorite artists" thing. I can't choose a favorite. I put a lot of thought in to it, and still everything I picked is -really- pretty random except my favorite artists this week are really what I've been listening to most lately.

I don't really do Christmas. I am not religious, I am not a major consumer, I don't have family living in my town. I still get really depressed around the holidays like everyone else, and this year I decided to make all my friends personalized mixes as therapy. I am going to call this the Christmas mix series, even though that's not entirely accurate.
This mix is for my friend Adrienne, who is a burlesque belly dancer. Her favorite bands are Pink Floyd and Floater. She also really likes Shakira and the like.

I work at this 1950's drive-in hamburger place. I've worked there many years and I spend a fair number of hours a week flipping burgers. I spend just about all of this time singing loudly both to entertain myself and keep myself sane. Also, I can simultaneously irritate coworkers I don't like. This is my short mix of songs that I sing while grilling.

This is the mix for the boy that I've loved for five years. We're friends. We sort of casually made out a few times, but I loved him and he just wanted to make out. Anyway, it's cool, but I will probably be hung up on him forever.

It's finally December and so that means that here in Seattle it is raining. And raining. And raining. And it's too cold. And all I want to do is sit on my bed drinking tea and listening to this mix. These songs = rainy wintertime happiness.
