Inspired by my buddy Steve originally, this has developed into just an overview of my favorite soul songs. The full four-disk version will be posted on my blog and on AOTM. I picked this particular disk to post here because I thought it would be easier to find the songs in the library here, but unfortunately I only found 50% of what eventually became the mix.

Well, I should have posted a note/tag earlier, but my comment carries a bit more weight now that I'm at level 9. Nice to see this as your first mix here (hope it isn't your last) since I really appreciate soul/moton (as you know). I really like your choices for track 3, 14 & 20 and have great respect for the artists represented in tracks 2 & 4 (but in general terms I like the whole shebang!).

Truly wonderful. Great to see Bobby "Blue" Bland here. I am a big fan and have been for a very long time. Also, Junior Walker has never been underappreciated in my house. His 'Roadrunner' is one of my all time favourite tracks. I know you are not fond of our library entry system here, and I can see your point although I actually like the idea of MTCers building it up together. +5 though. Bloody excellent

Cool stuff. When I saw "Oh Girl" I said to myself, what about "Ooh Child" and sho' nuff it scrolls right up. I love classic soul music, and many of these are high on the list.
