Just really into country at the moment and though not all these tracks are country and western they all seem to come from the same place for me.
This is the first of three parts.

About two months ago I realised that I couldn't take all my friends from University for granted but had to make an effor tto stay in touch with them. A couple of weeks ago I went up to Edinburgh (where I was at University) for the weekend and saw some friends who stayed up there after uni. the whole trip brought a flood of memories back to me. It was a shock to think that my first year at University was 6 years ago. Friday night I went back to a friend's flat and reminded him of a track we listened to back in our first year of uni, we got stoned and played it back to back to back and reminisced.
Since Friday i have been listening to all the tracks that remined me most of that period. There was a very tight group of us who had music and drugs in common and I'm still friends with all of them. My chest hurts with nostalgia and emotion writing this.
I apologise for the self-indulgence of this mix.

I've no fixed political opinion but I respect anyone who has something to say, thinks the world can be better, and isn't scared of saying it.
