This is a mix meant to be given to a girl (or guy) that holds your interest.
The purpose of a mix like this is not to send 'hidden messages' to a person. That can be generally annoying.. it is not meant to say 'hey, look at me, I want you and I'm trying desperately to tell you that without having to actually tell you that'.. it doesn't work that way. Thats too overt, obvious, strong, and desperate. It is meant to slip youself effortlessly (well, it took ME effort to make this) into someone's mind.. to establish a cornerstone, build a base to work from.
Unless, of course you already have the girl, then all this thought and planning is pointless and you may as well throw whatever you want on there. Or if they're a pretentious bitch. Then they'll probably hate this, and you for making it. In which case she's no good for you anyways. Or too good for you depending on how you look at it.

Girls generally ("generally" means i just made a gneralization, so don't get all pissy at me if you're a girl and don't like Coldplay.. besides I commend you for that) go apeshit for Coldplay, unless they're pretentious bitches, in which case you shouldn't be putting half this music on here anyways. Besides you can't just give someone a mixtape full of great music that they've never heard of and expect them to love it. I was never a big fan of Wilco, mainly because I had only heard their latest albums, didnt like them that much, and was quite annoyed by all the people that where orgasming all over them. Then I heard this great alt-country band (what?? weird.. country) that did a couple albums with the fantastic Billy Bragg, only to find out later that it was the same Wilco that all the indie kids were gushing over. Anyways, I still prefer the Billy Bragg/Wilco albums far more than their own stuff. This is one of my favorite songs from those albums. This is a pretty fine mix. Although I agree... 2 songs from the Donnie Darko OST and 3 from Garden State (or 4 artists from Garden State)... I'd try to stray from those just from principle alone, but as acclaimed and loved as both those movies are, they totally accomplish the purpose of the mix. And I'd totally swoon if a boy gave me a mix with that S&G song on it.
